You can go into the natural paradise along walking trail of three kilometers passing 15 bridges; six of them are hanging bridges with a spectacular design as a secure – enjoyable adventure to see the forest from the ground. Now we head back past town to the La Fortuna Waterfall.

VENADO CAVES TOUR (AAT162)

The caves were formed during the Miocene period, 15 to 20 million years ago. For many years they were under sea level and due to tectonic movements they surfaced. The Guatuzos aborigines discovered the caves. Limestone rocks, stalactites, stalagmites and corals, form most of the caves. The underground river forms the whimsical stone formations. In the caves we will find marine fossils as also bats, spiders and crickets. We will walk through the river and waterfalls from the upper part of the cave.

After picking you up at your hotel, we will take you towards Fortuna downtown, and drive you to a private farm, where a local guide and horses will be waiting for you to take you into a horseback riding journey towards the waterfalls. LA FORTUNA CULTURE (AAT136)

Visit to the School will be only from Monday through Friday during regular school classes

We will learn about the relationship and interaction of the inhabitants with the Arenal Volcano, its effects on land prices, the traditional way of living, agriculture, cattle breeding and its history, the living fences, and much more. Do you want to learn how to milk a caw? What a chapulín is? ? You’ll have the chance to learn about this at La Fortuna Professional Technique High School Farm. This institution has more than 40 years dedicated to teach the youth of La Fortuna and nearby locations the basics in agriculture and cattle breeding. The farm has its own dairy farm, demonstrative areas for breeding of goats, rabbits, livestock, and pork production. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the hydroponically production of vegetables, worm farming and visit the White-tailed deer breeding facilities. Our second visit will be to the Primary School, the children will present us a some local folk dances and information about the educational system in Costa Rica, you will also have the chance for a very nice interaction with the children and the teacher, we also invite you to bring some school supplies if possible, as this is a low resources school. Later on we will take our way to the property of our farmer friends; at her house you will have the chance to try real Costa Rican tortillas or homemade bread, during our stay with them we will have the opportunity to do a little walk to see ornamental plants, yucca an pineapple plantations, different kinds of fruit trees as: passion fruit, oranges, grape fruit, bananas and others, at the end of the hike will have some season fruits as snack.
